Under current industry rules and Louisiana law, every client relationship must include a written agreement that clearly explains how a REALTOR® is compensated. This protects both the client and the agent by keeping every detail transparent and in writing.
Before showing any homes, Carol or Janice will review and sign a Buyer Representation Agreement with you. This agreement outlines exactly how they will be paid, whether the payment comes directly from you, from the seller, or a combination of both. The amount and method of payment must be specific, agreed upon, and documented before any showings take place.
Compensation is always negotiable and transparent. Sellers may still choose to offer payment to a buyer's agent, but those offers are now discussed privately and outside of the MLS.
In short, it is both a Louisiana requirement and CG Real Estate's professional standard that you always know exactly how compensation works before we work together.
